A BAFTA for Sound of Music Live?
You may have seen Sound of Music Live when it was on last Christmas. If not, I recommend you search it out - it really was very good. Xander played Max Detweiler, music promoter and friend of the von Trapp family.
Now the show's been nominated for a BAFTA, in the Live Event category. Fabulous news! The other nominated shows are Big Blue Live, Stargazing Live: Brit In Space, Tim Peake Special, and The Vote.
The ceremony is on Sunday 8th May at the Royal Festival Hall. We wish Sound of Music Live well!

No Rhyme For Richard
Tim Rice: A Life In Song was repeated on BBC2 earlier. This was the show that let out the "secret" of Xander's singing voice to the wider public, when it was first broadcast on Christmas Day 2014.
If you missed what really was a very good performance, here he is, singing No Rhyme For Richard.

This Saturday's "no theme" Pointless Celebrities is on BBC1 at 5.20pm. The guests are Rich Hall and Shappi Khorsandi, Sian Lloyd and Fred MacAulay, Mark King and Stuart Maconie, and Chemmy Alcott and Amy Williams.
Well, that lot cover a few subjects between them. Should be a good show!

I'm delighted to be part of the Yamaha Jazz FM Replay Project. As a lapsed musician who has recently re-taken up the oboe and saxophone I know only too well what the rewards are of revisiting talents of a previous stage of life. It's amazing how quickly you pick things up second time around AND the speedy progress you make when studying as an adult rather than a teenager!I accept that this information may be a little niche, but it does give me the opportunity to share this pic of Xander and his joint MD Simon Bates getting horny.

Alexander Armstrong's Real Ripping Yarns
This enjoyable documentary is being repeated at 1.30am on Tuesday 22nd March.
Our dashing hero Alexander Armstrong explores the literature that inspired Michael Palin and Terry Jones's classic TV comedy Ripping Yarns, a loving parody of the Boys' Own books and magazines of their childhood. Featuring clips from Ripping Yarns, archive and interviews with experts, modern-day adventurers and Palin and Jones's own memories. In this affectionate and entertaining film Armstrong celebrates a long-lost slice of Britishness.Definitely worth a record if you haven't seen it before. Even if you have, frankly.

#DangerMouse takes Australia and New Zealand by storm
The rebooted Danger Mouse, starring Xander as our hero DM, has been on Australian and New Zealand screens since the start of this year. Unsurprisingly it's been a huge hit.
Crikey chief, another series surely has to be a formality?
In the meantime, DVDs of the first series are available from the usual outlets.
