Pointless Celebrities, 28th January
Rev Richard Coles
and Diane-Louise Jordan, Nancy Dell'Olio and Matt Barbet, Sharron Davies
and Mark Foster, and Gyles Brandreth and Susan Calman feature in Pointless Celebrities at 6.10pm on Saturday 28th January.
Nice selection of celebrities. Several have been on before, and a few are real fans of the show, and I'm sure would desperately love to win. It saddens me beyond words, though, that Mark Foster (6'5") hasn't been paired with Susan Calman (4'9").

Alexander Armstrong to appear in Dame Vera Lynn's 100th Birthday Concert
Renowned wartime singer Dame Vera Lynn will reach her 100th birthday in March this year. To celebrate this milestone for Dame Vera, known as the Forces' Sweetheart during World War 2 for her uplifting performances of songs like We'll Meet Again, she will be holding a charity concert showcasing some of the best in British talent.
The concert, on the 18th of March at the London Palladium, is in aid of The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity and will feature over 25 of the country’s most beloved singers, dancers, actors, West End stars and TV personalities. Accompaniment will be provided by the revered Royal Air Force Dance Orchestra, The Squadronaires, a very fitting tribute to Mr Harry Lewis, Dame Vera Lynn’s husband, who was a founding member.
Among those performing are Alexander Armstrong, Blake, and Hayley Westenra. Other acts will be announced over the weeks to come, but a once in a lifetime experience is promised. Tickets are available online.

#Pointless1000!
The 1000th episode of Pointless will be broadcast on Monday 16th January, at the normal time of 5.15pm.
For this special show, Xander and Richard will be swapping places: Richard will be behind the presenter's podium, and Xander will be his pointless friend.
The participants are all important figures from Pointlesses past. There are the first ever jackpot winners, the biggest ever jackpot winners, a pair who got three pointless answers in the final, and an early winning couple from the celebrity series.
I was at this recording, and very good it was too. No spoilers, but I think you'll enjoy it!

Make your vote Pointless!
Pointless has been shortlisted in the Daytime category of the National Television Awards, so there's voting to be done! Even if you remember voting recently, please do so again. That was to get Pointless onto the shortlist, and this is to win.
Hopefully you'll enjoy the voting process anyway. There are lots of interesting contenders. For me, there was only one category where I had absolutely no opinion due to not having seen any of the programmes.
So if you've enjoyed Pointless during the last year, please consider giving it your vote. Thank you.
